Taking It To The Streets

THE latest book about the 111 years-old Newtown RLFC was launched in style at the Better Read Than Dead Bookshop in King Street, Newtown.
‘Taking It To The Streets – The Second Life of the Newtown RLFC’ looks at the Newtown club’s history from 1984 onwards, with particular reference from when the Jets re-entered the active rugby league playing ranks in 1991.
The book has been written by long-serving Newtown Jets director, media officer and publicist Glen “Bumper” Dwyer (pictured third from right, with club director and sponsor Terry Rowney, administration manager Olga Lauricella and Henson Park ground announcer John Lynch) and was officially launched by Judge Stephen Norrish QC.
