Sydney FC opening games of A-League season moved

Sydney FC’s opening games of the A-League and Westfield W-League season will be moved to Kogarah’s Jubilee Stadium on Wednesday December 30th (kick offs 4.30pm / 7pm AEDT).

The Grand Final rematch double header against Melbourne City was originally scheduled to take place at ANZ Stadium, however the recent relaxing of stadium attendance restrictions by the New South Wales Government has allowed the change.
Sydney FC Chief Executive Officer Danny Townsend explained: “Under the previous restrictions we would not have been able to accommodate all of our ticketed Members and fans at Jubilee Stadium.
“With both games being season openers as well as Grand Final re-matches, only a larger stadium would fulfill our expected demand.
“However now the restrictions have been lifted and we are able to accommodate all our Members at our home ground in Kogarah, we have taken the decision to move the fixture.
“We’ve a great record at the ground, our Members enjoy it and we believe we can create a great atmosphere to kick off the season in style.”
Sydney FC’s second home match of the campaign, the Sydney Derby double header against Western Sydney Wanderers on Saturday January 16th, 2021 (kick off 7pm AEDT) will remain at ANZ Stadium in order to facilitate expected demand for tickets.
