THE NSW Swifts scored a 61-43 victory at Sydney Olympic Park’s Quaycentre against the Adelaide Thunderbirds, while their cross-town rivals Giants Netball lost 45-61 away from home against the Melbourne Vixens in round two of the national netball season.

In the opening minutes of their game, the Swifts were a bit wobbly, with Paige Hadley making a wayward feed to Sam Wallace that landed straight into Thunderbird hands.
However she quickly made up for it in the next play with an intercept, giving control back to the Swifts.
A line-up reshuffle by the Thunderbirds in the second quarter didn’t help them and by half-time, the Swifts had built a 14-goal lead.
While the Giants started their match strongly, the Vixens took control to be up six points at the first break and the visitors were never able to recover.
