‘Sus’ shop fire

POLICE are investigating a suspicious fire which destroyed a tattoo business in Newtown early last Saturday morning.

Appeal for witness, dashcam over destroyed tattoo parlour

Emergency services were called to LDF Tattoo in King Street about 2.30am after flames were seen coming from the front of the business. The fire was extinguished a short time later but the shop sustained extensive damage.
Initial inquiries indicate the fire has been deliberately lit.
Police established a crime scene and have seized a number of items for forensic examination.
Business owner Les Rice offered his thanks to everyone who has offered their support.
“It warms my heart to know there is such a supportive and uplifting community around me,” he said.
Investigators are now appealing for information – or any drivers with dashcam who passed through the area about the time the fire broke out – to contact Newtown Police or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
