Support to make healthy normal

LITTLE lifestyle changes can result in big health benefits and during September, visitors to Cumberland libraries have been learning how to ‘Make Healthy Normal’.

A range of workshops and activities have been held at Merrylands, Guildford, Granville, Regents Park, Auburn and Lidcombe Libraries including ‘Healthy’ talks, lunchbox workshops, story-times for kids and the Sydney Thunder Literacy program.
Joining the campaign to get people off the couch and to be more active, librarians from both Cumberland and the City of Parramatta, in partnership with the Western Sydney Local Health District (WSLHD), are also helping residents to sign up for a free, personal telephone health coach.
Entries are also still open for the Junior Bookmark Colouring Competition for children aged up to 12.
For a chance to win a kids books pack valued at $100, pick up a colour-in bookmark from any Cumberland’s library, then just scan or photograph the finished work and include the name and age of the child, along with a contact telephone number and email to library.events@cumberland.gov.au by Monday, September 30.
