Support Birrong FC women in ‘Pink Ribbon Gala’ fundraiser

IT’S time to think pink for Birrong Football Club ladies team who are throwing their support behind the annual Women in Football Pink Ribbon Gala next month and invite residents to make a donation to support their efforts.

With the club covering their women’s team’s $200 entry fee, the seven-a-side knockout comp will see all-age womens teams from across Canterbury Bankstown converge on Peakhurst Park on March 6, with kick-off at 9am.
Birrong FC President Tyrone Wait says the event is about raising awareness and raising money for women’s breast cancer.
“One in two Australians will be diagnosed with cancer in their lifetime and we have all had someone close to us that has been effected somehow by breast cancer and cancer in general,” he said.
“So go girls and let’s get behind them. Feel free to throw in a little and help the girls with raising some worthwhile funds.”
