Superstar on song to bring shoppers cheer

SHOPPERS were captivated by the beautiful voice of Mahalia Barnes streaming throughout Roselands shopping centre last week.

The daughter of rock star Jimmy Barnes, Mahalia headlined the Vicinity Centres’ Spotlight Series which sees the centre giving back to local communities while shining a light on local acts and artists, who have been doing it tough over the past couple of years.
The performance raised much-needed funds for Australian Red Cross to give back to Aussies to help ease the burden this Christmas as the cost of living continues to increase.
“To have Mahalia Barnes perform in-centre at Roselands for local shoppers and 12 families from the Australian Red Cross program was incredibly special. The day was filled with so much joy ahead of the festive period, and it was a great way to kick-start our fundraising efforts for Australian Red Cross, to give back to Aussies doing it tough this Christmas.” Kristy Traynor, Roselands Centre Manager.
And, if you weren’t lucky enough to catch Mahalia’s amazing performance, you can see her performing at the free ‘Carols in the Park’ this Sunday, December 4, 6-9pm, at Wiley Park Amphitheatre.
Bring your picnic blanket for a magical night of Christmas fun, compered by radio star Anthony Maroon. There will be food, magical characters, a chance to take a photo with Santa, TAP performers, the Salvation Army band and much more.
