Superstar Mailata’s back to host clinic

ONE of the highest-paid National Football League (NFL) players in the world, Jordan Mailata returned to his old stomping ground at Ruse Park on Sunday to host a clinic for over 150 young players.

Hosted by Mailata’s former club, the Bankstown Bulls, the clinic was one of three held in Australia to introduce the NFL Flag program which is similar to OzTag and tailored for youth.
One of the program partners, the Philadelphia Eagles has just extended Mailata’s contract, worth $100 million, through to the end of the 2028 season.
Bankstown Bulls Club President Ali Mehanna said the star put his hand up for the Sydney clinic, hoping to inspire the young players, with them all keen to meet the homegrown footy hero.
“They all loved getting tips from him, taking selfies and it was wonderful that he made this nostalgic trip to Australia to meet the kids,” Mehanna said.
“There were over 150 U9s and U10s registered to take part as the Flag program is aimed at that age group but there were many age groups there on the day meeting Mailata and enjoying the whole experience; everyone had a ball.”
