Super effort to help children in hospital

RESIDENTS rallied together to help pack more than 1800 Supertee Kits, which were gifted to children facing long-term illness’ in hospital.

The Supertee kits are hospital packs which were designed and created by Cumberland local Jason Sotiris and come complete with a Marvel superhero medical garment, an activity book, stickers, bookmarks, a superhero ID card and a special message from both Australian actor Chris Hemsworth and American Actress Brie Larson.
Mayor Lisa Lake said it was great to see the community united and rallying behind a worthy cause.
“A sick child needs lots of encouragement and re-assurance. These packs help to brighten up their day and make their time in hospital more cheerful and less anxious, so I am very pleased to see our community members banding together to support this worthy cause,” she said.
Supertee CEO and co-founder, Jason Sotiris said that having the support of the community is so important when faced with raising a child with life-threatening conditions.
“This is a really busy time of the year so to have the support of the community to help us pack kits will really help sick kids get through the holiday season,” he said.
