In celebration of International Women’s Day 2023, residents are encouraged to nominate an inspiring woman who lives or works in Canterbury Bankstown for CBCity’s Women’s Awards Program.
It may be a woman who demonstrates leadership, contributes to improving the lives of people in the community, or continuously goes above and beyond her occupational role.
Canterbury Bankstown Mayor Khal Asfour said the awards were about recognising the exceptional contributions, hard work and determination of women across the City.
“We have so many wonderful women in our City, and I want to recognise and give praise to them,” he said.
“Whether it’s a dedicated mother or grandmother, a teacher who has gone above and beyond, or a tireless volunteer and advocate for change, we all know a woman who has made an impact on our lives.
“They’re the unsung heroes … the wonder women in our City, and I encourage you all to shine a light on them by nominating them for an award.”
Nominations are now open across two categories: Woman of the Year – recognises a female resident (age 16+) who has made a significant contribution to the community; and Community Woman of the Year – recognises a female worker from a local community organisation who has made a significant contribution to the community.
Nominate an inspiring woman at cb.city/LocalWomenAwards until March 29.
