The competition involved 120 students from different Catholic schools across the region and was run over three rounds.
Two students from St Felix School, Paris Moussa (Year 6) and Ethan Tran (Year 5), were chosen to participate in the final round of the competition on September 12 at Holy Spirit Primary School, with Ethan taking out first place.
When Ethan was asked how he felt about being involved in this competition, he said: “I was happy that I was chosen to represent our school and overwhelmed that I was able to go so far in the competition. Public Speaking is great because it boosts your confidence and helps you in everyday life”.
Paris agreed that being in the competition was an amazing experience and it gave her skills for the future.
The Public Speaking at St Felix is coordinated by Sylvia Braden and Kasey Axtell who monitor the students’ progress in regards to speech development, voice, body language and correctness based on the adjudicators’ judging criteria.
