The Year 12 student said it was the least he could do to help people impacted by blood cancers, including leukaemia.
“I felt like I should get behind the school’s campaign and make a difference,” he said.
“I am very happy to help and don’t mind losing the 40cm of hair that I’ve been growing.”
Lazar is one of five boys at the school who fronted up on Monday to get shorn thanks to the efforts of barber Adam from Fade City in Belmore who donated his skills for the day.
There were also about a dozen other students who had their hair coloured on the day so they could also take part in the fundraiser, said Head Teacher Welfare and SRC Co ordinator Samantha Mackenzie who organised the event along with colleague Ben Wilson.
“We have a goal of raising $1,000 but need a bit more help with donations,” she said.
“We are incredibly proud of our students, as always, for taking part in this initiative and thinking of others.”
