Can you do the pretzel? Or the skier?
Primary students at Georges River Grammar can – they have hopped, skipped and jumped their way through Term 2 to take part in Jump Rope for Heart, raising an amazing $17,000 in the process.
The Heart Foundation’s fundraising and skipping program, Jump Rope for Heart helps primary school students move more and have fun while raising vital funds for heart research, patient support and programs that help save lives.
GRG’s Amy McRae said students had built resilience and perseverance to complete weekly skipping challenges.
“Regular skipping has been used as a brain break; a quick skip for five minutes allows them to use their energy, increased focus in class, improve fitness, heart health and gross motor skills,” she said.
“Our playground is now an even happier and active place to be.”
