Students can undertake degree study in Year 12

OFFERING a holistic education of faith where students can flourish academically, creatively and on the sports field, Holy Spirit Catholic College Lakemba is a proud member of the system of schools across the Sydney archdiocese.

With esteemed alumni such as Yellow Brick Road founder Mark Bouris and globally renowned event planner Diane Khoury who shared their wisdom with students at their first Careers Enrichment Day last term, all students are provided with resources to allow them to reach their personal best and fulfill their potential.
Principal Kevin Griffiths said his goal was to ensure that every student was equipped with the skills and knowledge for a life beyond school in a world that was rapidly changing.
“We embrace differences in ability by offering those who are academically gifted, access to the Newman Selective Gifted Education Program and students with learning difficulties or disabilities, the support of our exceptional Diverse Learning Needs department,” he said.
“We strive to create opportunities in which all students experience success, whether through showcasing their gifts and talents in the creative and performing arts field, in our strong sporting offerings or in areas such as vocational education or public speaking.”
The Australian Catholic University Step-Up program allows students to experience university life by studying units while still in high school.
“This gives them a head start at university, helps them develop uni-level study skills and explore their potential degrees, with two students recently completing the first two units in Nursing, Midwifery and Paramedicine,” Mr Griffiths said.
