This year, MPS has taken away the percentage trophy at both district carnivals held to date – for swimming and cross country.
Seven students from MPS represented East Hills at the Sydney Southwest Swimming Carnival, with one student Thomas Valassis making it to the State carnival, finishing one second behind former MPS student Ian Thorpe’s freestyle result in the same age group.
Thomas was crowned 11 Years Boys Swimming Champion.
Nine students from MPS represented East Hills at the Sydney Southwest Cross Country Carnival earlier this month.
MPS Principal Sarah Casuccio said their results were impressive considering there were up to 80 students in each age group.
“Congratulations to: Ashleigh Peters who came eighth; Xavier Aad – 15th; Charlize Parker- 16th; Alexia Nicotra – 23rd; Isaac Aad- 26th; Ella Peroni – 26th; Dante Jans – 30th; Isaac Deguara – 33rd and Analise Nicotra – 42nd,” she said.
Throughout the year so far, 22 students have been selected to represent East Hills in sporting teams in AFL, softball, soccer, touch football, rugby league, netball and basketball.
Four students were selected to represent Sydney Southwest in regional teams and three students at State level.
“Students will take part in the Athletics Carnival next term with strong success anticipated,” Sarah said.
“I am so proud of the students at MPS who stick by our motto ‘Aim High’ and strive for success each and every day.”
