Streets to come alive as part of EDGE festival

LANEWAYS, side streets and corners will come alive under projections, paste ups and street art during EDGE Sydenham from this Friday, August 2-4 and 10.

Streets and studios across Marrickville, St Peters, Sydenham and Tempe will exhibit some of the best creativity the Inner West has to offer including a tour of Perfect Match street art and Esem Projects’ Labour of Love which will celebrate the spirits of art makers with giant projections beaming across the streetscapes.
See art with your ears at Tributary – a soundscape experience depicting the Inner West at Monster Mouse studios, 9 Gerald Street, Marrickville.
Look out for Street Theatre and pop ups day and night over both weekends of EDGE, including The Monstrosities by Matriak Theatre where enormous shaggy creatures lurk the streets in search of creativity; CybHers by Deep Sea Astronauts where gender, technology and power collide in this object-costume work which blurs borders and the binary extinct; The Sleep Walkers by Gabrielle Bates and Kassandra Bossell where artists are lost in a desolate cityscape void of artists and creativity; The Side Project’s surprising pop up performances along streetscapes and creatives space by an all-star music collective; and the Wrapped Art Project, a partnership between the council, Lendlease Tyco Joint Venture and Roads and Maritime Services as a graffiti and tagging deterrent, with 22 cabinets spread over 13 locations, wrapped with vinyl printed art.
