Stories that inspire, challenge tradition

HOPING to inspire anyone who’s stuck to generate that strength to keep moving, Lidcombe actor Steve Lu stars in the exhilarating debut work of Fuser Productions this month.

‘Intact’ follows a soldier upon his return from war and asks us to interrogate how we reinvent ourselves in an attempt to adapt to extreme challenges.
With him unable to relate to whom he once was after receiving a spinal injury and now unable to walk, the audience are encouraged to sit in what ‘stuck’ feels like in a revealing experience.
Steve said: “I hope to encourage people not to be hindered by self-imposed assumptions; that as long as the human spirit in you is ‘intact’, you can always reach beyond any limitations.”
Steve is also appearing in ‘Yentl’: “It’s about a Jewish girl who challenges traditional customs to study the Talmud at a time where it was only allowed by men.
“To do this, she disguises herself as a man and what ensues will move anyone to tears. I would encourage all to watch this as well as it is incredibly inspiring especially regarding gender equality.”
You can catch ‘INTACT’ at Redfern and see ‘Yentl’ at Penrith.
