Stars of tomorrow on way

UPCOMING sporting star, St Therese Catholic Primary School Padstow student Aiden Thomas has been selected in the 12-boy softball squad to represent MacKillop at the NSWPSSA State Championships in September.

Children progress from school level, to Diocesan, to MacKillop, to NSWPSSA and ultimately national level in selected sports.
The MacKillop region includes Wollongong, Parramatta, Sydney, Wagga, Canberra-Goulburn and Wilcannia-Forbes dioceses.
Aiden wrote in the school newsletter last week: “I was lucky enough to go to the Sydney Catholic School Softball trial.
“There were more than 50 children there from all across Sydney, some even came from Wagga Wagga and Albury.
“The selectors put us through many different skills and tests that I felt confident doing.
“At the end of the day, the selectors called out the bib numbers of the boys who had made the team.
“When I heard my name, I was screaming in my mind ‘yes, I have done it’.
“Now in September I will be representing MacKillop as part of the squad selected at the PSSA State Championships and will do my very best to represent St Therese and Sydney Catholic Schools.”
