THE hunt continues for a “missing link” Covid-19 case as restrictions imposed last week are extended until midnight on Monday, May 17.

While no additional locally acquired cases have been recorded since a man in his 50s and his wife tested positive on Thursday, health authorities are concerned as they visited nearly 20 venues over four days while highly infectious, including two Silverwater stores – Joe’s Barbeqes and Heating and Tucker Barbeques on May 1.
Describing the reimposed restrictions as a “proportional response”, Premier Gladys Berejiklian said they were a necessary precaution.
“We know that there is at least one person with the virus, who has been going about their business, and we haven’t found them yet,” she said.
Under the temporary restrictions, drinkers at indoor venues will have to sit down again and singing is also out, with congregations at indoor places of worship back to silent prayers.
Visitors to aged care facilities are now limited to two people a day, and households are limited to 20 guests, including children.
Face masks are compulsory again for customer-facing staff at hospitality venues and retail outlets, as well as for everyone on public transport and in some public indoor venues, such as theatres and gaming venues, but won’t be required in gyms or other similar facilities like indoor pools or dance studios.
Dancing is also out again at indoor hospitality venues or nightclubs but is still okay at weddings with only “a strong recommendation” for a 20-person limit on the dance floor at a time.
