RUOK? Day Ambassador and Belfield resident Andre Sakr, who has been assisting the organisation for the last couple of years, initially through running a mental health support group, said he wanted to make everyone aware of the value of the day.
“The street will be decorated with balloons and there will be live music and giveaways as well as great food and coffee from local cafes,” he said.
It’s on offer from 7-10am, with Andre and other volunteers on hand to spread the word on the importance of good mental health and provide valuable information regarding suicide prevention.
“We can’t underestimate the importance of RUOK? Day,” he said.
“We invite everyone to come and be a part of this worthwhile mental health initiative, meet the community and drop in to say hi to the amazing local business operators.”
Spread word at local cafes
BELFIELD shopping centre cafes will be hosting their inaugural RUOK? Day event this Thursday, September 14, to raise awareness about the importance of reaching out to others in the community.
