In her highly-anticipated Sydney Fringe Comedy Festival debut, Concetta Caristo is sharing her story in a daring one-woman play, ‘Loose’.
Based on true events, it follows Concetta, her mother and younger sister fleeing from an abusive home and moving cross-country to Perth to start a whole new life with new identities.
A unique blend of stand-up, storytelling and theatre, ‘Loose’ is a one-of a kind show and unlike anything else at the Sydney Fringe Festival or in Australian landscapes today.
Concetta is quickly becoming one of the most watched-for new voices in Sydney’s comedy scene. She is a Sydney-based comedian, writer, actor and improviser. But Concetta also has an unbelievable survival story from domestic violence.
A nuanced, powerful (and most importantly) funny coming of age story all about finally having the freedom to make mistakes, ‘Loose’ has been co-written with fellow comedian Hannah Pembroke.
Catch it at the Factory Theatre on September 25, 27 and 29.
Tickets: fringecomedy.com.au.
Something funny going on about true story of escape
CONCETTA is about to disappear. She’s deleted her Facebook, moved across the country and changed her name to Denise. Yes, Denise – get over it.
