Members took part in a 28-day challenge, working towards their own fundraising and fitness goals, for LIVIN, an organisation which aims to break the stigma around mental health.
Snap Fitness Canterbury Club Manager Jessica Foley said members enjoyed being involved with the fundraiser.
“Almost everybody has experienced some sort of low in their life, so to see so many share their stories and actively show support has been amazing and highlighted the supportive and caring community we have here at the Canterbury club,” she said.
“We encourage residents to keep an eye on their mental health beyond October. Check in with family and friends to ask how they’re feeling, but also offer loved ones an update on how you’re feeling too. For those who can spare a few dollars, you can donate to LIVIN (livin.org) all year round.”
For those wanting to better their mental health, Jessica recommends joining the club for a free seven-day trial to see how regular exercise can positively impact overall wellness.
“We’re so proud of the community for joining us on the crusade to reduce the stigma around mental health and provide support to Australians who need it most,” she added.
Snap fundraises for mental health
EXCEEDING their goal of $500 four times over, Snap Fitness Canterbury staff and members have raised over $2,000 for Mental Health Month in October.
