Encouraging residents to get to a library and get healthy, former WSLHD Population Health’s Belinda Duckworth, Library manager Laurence McDonnell and WSLHD health promotion officer Melissa O’Neill.

DURING September, residents can sign up for a free, personal telephone health coach as easily as visiting their local library.

Part of a campaign to get people off the couch and more active, the Western Sydney Local Health District (WSLHD) is partnering with libraries in the City of Parramatta and Cumberland Council areas to spread the ‘Make Healthy Normal’ message.
The month-long program allows people to instantly sign up for a free health coaching service at 25 libraries across Western Sydney, including Merrylands, Guildford, Granville, Regents Park, Auburn and Lidcombe.
The libraries will also promote other free health programs including Go4Fun and Stepping On, as well as playing host to a range of ‘Healthy’ talks and activities such as the lunchbox workshops, storytimes for kids and Sydney Thunder Literacy program.
