Three Feet Deep’ is a film noir-inspired crime thriller that follows the story of the gravedigger who breaks his code and decides to spy on one of his criminal clients, leading him to the biggest moral dilemma of his life.
The film explores multiple themes including karma, responsibility and how one person can truly make a difference.
Filmed in Carlingford and Padstow, Myers created the seven-minute film to inspire positive change in our current global climate that is affected by individualism and a lack of commitment towards our own responsibilities.
On the impact she hopes to make with the audience, Myers said: “I would like the film to empower its viewers to think twice before turning a blind eye to some of the problems we have in the world.
“We often hear ‘I’m just one person, what could I do?’. Sometimes all it takes is just one person to make a difference.”
The multi-award-winning film has received a number of nominations including Best Film, Best Director, Best Cinematographer, Best Editor and Best Actor.
It has also had the honour of screening as part of the official selection of Academy Award Qualifying Film Festival, St Kilda Film Festival.
The film has won Best Music Score at Made in the West Film Festival and has taken out Best Film at Melbourne Lift-Off Online Film Festival.
The original score and stylised cinematography were all brought to life by Western Sydney based creatives and remain a testament to the evolving and ever-growing film culture present in Sydney’s often overlooked region.
