Shirley’s ‘Lucky in Love’ story picked out of thousands for 2021 senior book

CONDELL Park resident Shirley Galloway’s tale, ‘Lucky in Love’, has been selected out of thousands of contributions across NSW to be among 100 published in the latest edition of ‘Seniors’ Stories’.

The book, produced annually by the NSW Department of Communities to recognise and value the experiences of NSW seniors, is now in its seventh edition.
Writing the story as a way to celebrate her 64th wedding anniversary with husband Ian in March, Shirley – who is a member of the Revesby Writers Group – said she was thrilled it was chosen for publishing and is now feeling inspired to put more pen to paper.
Minister for Seniors Natalie Ward said the book showcases a selection of stories every year from authors aged in their sixties to nineties.
