Shines light on diversity to increase our harmony

CONGRATULATIONS to the Canterbury Bankstown Torch on reaching 100 years.

This is a huge milestone to celebrate and I thank the Engisch family for continuing to deliver important local news to the local community.
The Torch doesn’t simply report on our community, the Torch is part of our community.
It was here before Canterbury or Bankstown hospitals and before the Canterbury Bankstown Berries had started playing rugby league.
As our community has grown, the Torch has been with us every step of the way.
For many years it has provided a platform for this diverse community, telling stories that have contributed to harmony and understanding.
Because there will be many more stories to share with the local community, I wish the Torch many more years to come.
TONY BURKE,
Federal MP for Watson.
