SmartFone Flick Fest (SF3) is Australia’s international smartphone film festival for filmmakers of all ages and is now open for entries until Thursday, September 1, with over $50,000 prizes up for grabs.
A world-wide festival and free to enter, it’s open to anyone with a smartphone or tablet and a good idea for a short film.
Former Punchbowl resident and SF3 Co-Founder, Angela Blake, says never has there been a more important time for people to tell their stories and share what is happening in their world.
“Smartphone and tablet filmmaking is really having its moment in the sun – it is both affordable and accessible to all – and that’s why at SF3 we hope to inspire everyone to make a film; whether you’ve never made one or whether this will be your 100th, or maybe you are five or maybe you are in your 70s, like some of our entrants this year, we say pick up your phone and tell your story in 20 minutes. It really is that simple.”
Finalists will screen at the film fest’s gala night in Sydney later in the year.
Open to people of all ages and abilities, there are prizes for children, tweens, teens and adults.
Festival Ambassadors include Phillip Noyce, Kriv Stenders, Nicole da Silva, Kerry Armstrong, Jon Bell and more.
