Service that keeps clients on move

HAVING started from humble beginnings more than 30 years ago, Community Wheels is now offering accessible and affordable transport to more local communities than ever before.

Fulfilling the transport needs of eligible residents living in Parramatta and Cumberland LGAs, the not-for-profit’s customers include the elderly, people with a disability or transport-disadvantaged residents who have no means to access critical services such as doctors’ appointments, shopping for essentials or attending social gatherings necessary for their physical and mental well-being.
While transport may seem like only a tiny portion of the bigger landscape of community services, it is sometimes the most crucial service that connects all other dots.
“At Community Wheels, we pride ourselves on delivering responsive, reliable and safe transport services to our customers from Western Sydney and surrounds,” a spokesperson said.
“We receive funding from Transport for NSW to provide this critical, subsidised service to our community.
“Our customers are the most important part of our business and we work tirelessly to ensure their complete satisfaction.”
One of those customers is Norma Potter, 98, who said: “I have found Community Wheels an outstanding service.
“It is prompt, reliable, safe and very affordable. The drivers are helpful and courteous and management is always there to oblige.
“We are extremely fortunate to have this wonderful service in our community.”
