Seniors can discover secrets to better sleep, energy with Tai Chi

ARE you getting older and would like to improve your sleep quality, circulation and strength?

Tai Chi for over 65s is on offer every Monday at Canterbury City Community Centre (4cs) at a cost of $5 which includes morning tea.
You must be registered with My Aged Care and can also book for transport there and back for $5 (conditions apply).
Interested in volunteering?
If you have a few hours to spare a week and would like to give back to your community, 4cs would also like to hear from you.
Volunteers are needed in garden care and social support.
“Garden care volunteers work in small teams to help convert gardens or elderly residents,” 4cs’ Alison Matthews said.
“This is done through weeding, mulching, pruning and generally making the garden safe and tidy. We are looking for volunteers to commit to a minimum of one day a week, with teams working from 9am-12pm, Mondays to Fridays.”
Social support volunteers work in small teams to support groups of elderly residents to go on outings or visit them at home, Mondays to Fridays, 8.30am-2.30pm.
“Some bright company around the shops or a friendly social visit can make a world of difference to an older person,” Alison said.
