Hosted by the Rotary Club of Campsie, the award acknowledges ‘service above self’, outstanding acts of compassion, courage and devotion to duty in the past year by any police officer, official volunteer or employee in the Campsie Police Area Command.
There are three categories – Police Officer, Employee and Customer Service Excellence, with Rotary Club of Campsie treasurer Dr Helen Jagger saying it’s the fifth year the awards have been run as part of a statewide program.
“In my capacity as Director of Medical Services at Canterbury Hospital, I saw how much the police supported the community and it’s important that we take this opportunity to recognise their efforts,” she said.
“In today’s changing society, we are more dependent than ever on our police force who put themselves out there and still manage kindness, understanding and respect.”
To nominate a deserving candidate in one of the three categories, email their name and the reason for nomination to campsie.rotary@gmail.com or post to PO Box 79, Campsie, 2194.
