Featuring a child-centred environment where children and families can explore the joys of learning through play, the group is run by qualified early childhood teachers and family resource workers who can also connect you with other community resources.
Family Preservation and Support program team leader Alisha Wilson said the playgroups also featured workshops with speech pathologists, parenting programs and dieticians – all completely free for families that live in the Cumberland Local Government Area.
“The playgroups are a wonderful opportunity for families to get support and strategies to support their child’s development,” she said.
“We also provide referrals and even home visits when required.
“The work we do with children and families has an impact on who children are and who they become; we see the whole child, their world and their family.
“We respect their rights and encourage them to participate and have powerful voices.”
