With 20 bottles equalling a litre of fuel to keep Little Wings in the air and providing free flights to transport seriously ill country children to Sydney hospitals for treatment, Yagoona Public was the first to come on board followed by Punchbowl Public and Padstow North Public schools. A Padstow North Public School spokesperson said they were excited to be a part of the fundraiser program.
“We are always interested to know how many litres of fuel the students have raised for Little Wings,” the spokesperson said.
“We will proudly continue to support The Little Wings Return And Earn campaign in 2023, as their work is invaluable for families in regional communities.”
Little Wings CEO Clare Pearson says that with a few simple actions, the Bankstown community can have a positive impact on regional families.
“We hope more schools and people will get involved and help keep us in the air,” she said.
“I want to say a big thank you to our wonderful schools who supported have us in 2022.”
Return and Earn is celebrating five years of the popular recycling scheme, with the people of NSW returning more than eight billion containers and reducing drink container litter volume by 52 per cent since it was introduced by the NSW Government in 2017.
