Now preparing to take on the State’s best in the NSW Championships on April 4 and 5, it is the first Open team from the school to reach the finals.
However, the school’s Open Girls team narrowly missed out after being defeated by East Hills Girls Technology High School by just a point in the final.
School Water Polo coach and teacher Lauren Barton said she was incredibly proud of the efforts of both teams and seeing them develop such a passion for the sport.
“Some of them are even training outside of school now and playing in the Sutherland competition which is great experience and will help develop their skills even further,” she said.
School’s in State Water Polo Championships for first time
MAKING the biggest splash in the Sydney South West Open’s Water Polo titles, the Picnic Point High School Open Boys team have been named this year’s champions after defeating Picton High School in the final.
