Providing extra inspiration on the day, the Koomurri Aboriginal Dance Troupe will be in attendance at the school to perform a Welcome to Country and smoking ceremony.
First Nations students from surrounding local primary schools will also take part in the celebrations and will then join in for an Aboriginal dance workshop.
“We will also open the school to First Nations parents and community members for a ‘Meet the Mob’ barbecue,” a school spokesperson said.
“Following this, our First Nations students and Aboriginal Studies students will start working on a digital virtual reality project which will be showcased at Sydney Zoo in September.
“We wish our Year 12 students all the very best for their upcoming Trial HSC Examinations, HSC Major Project Submissions and Performances in Term 3.”
