School shut red flag

WITH face-to-face learning set to return in October, the closure of Lidcombe Public School last Friday is a stark reminder of how prevalent Covid-19 is in the community.

While students and staff self isolated, the school was closed for the day for cleaning and contact tracing.
The closure came the same day that the State Government announced a staggered return to face-to-face learning in October.
The Department of Education has developed a plan for a staggered return to school in a Covid-safe way from October 25 while stay at home orders are still in place.
Premier Gladys Berejiklian says the NSW Government is prioritising the safety and education of students through a sensible and managed return to school.
