School jumps in to help sick and needy

WITH around 335 students, Padstow Heights Public School (pictured) is not large on numbers but it’s extra big on going the distance for others.

Just in the last two weeks, students, parents and staff have raised almost $4,000 for charity – $1,184 in their annual Biggest Morning Tea for the Cancer Council and $2,873 so far for the Heart Foundation’s Jump Rope for Heart fundraiser.
With 60 students registered in the Jump Rope initiative, they are tracking their skipping hours and also calling on the community to donate to such a worthy cause.
To get involved, visit jumprope.org.au/parents to register your child or family and set up your own secure fundraising page.
You’ll get access to additional skipping trick videos and be able to post your updates to your own page so family and friends can follow your progress and help you easily raise funds online.
To make a donation or for further info, call the school on 9773 9340.
