During the week, students from Years 7 to 12, had the opportunity to engage with post-school option providers who assisted youth in making suitable subject choices and setting aspirational goals for their futures.
All year groups took part in careers workshops by external provider Turning Point Consultants, which gave students access to professional careers workshops to build knowledge, understanding and awareness throughout their high school journey and beyond.
Kingsgrove High school Careers Adviser Artemis Theodoris said they believed careers education was vital during her opening address at the expo.
“Throughout this week, students from each year group have participated in seminars focused on individual skills, strengths and future preparation,” she said.
“These sessions are essential for initiating early discussions about career pathways, helping students contextualise their learning and exploring various career options.
“Our goal is to connect the skills and attributes students are developing now with their future aspirations. While we may not see the future, our role is to equip students to shape theirs.”
The program engaged the entire school community as well as a range of educational providers, apprenticeship companies and universities.
Students from the Beverly Hills network – Kingsgrove North and Beverly Hills Girls – were also invited to take part along with Kingsgrove High parents who attended sessions and engaged with providers to better support their child.
