Principal Monica Palmer said attendees were treated to an inspiring talk from members of the SES.
“They did an incredible job teaching our children about their great work, maybe future SES volunteers will come from St Mary’s Georges Hall after being so inspired,” she said.
With parents operating a cake stall, Year 6 students ran fun games to raise money such as an egg and spoon race, guessing competitions, soccer shootouts, sandbag tossing and skipping challenges.
“It was wonderful day and I’d like to thank all teachers, parents and students for their efforts in raising as many funds as we could to help battling, flood-impacted families,” Ms Palmer said.
State MP for Bankstown, Tania Mihailuk, also attended and thanked the school for being so caring and raising funds, and praised the volunteers at Bankstown SES.
