After a rigorous selection process, Nictalia Kong, Hannah Le, Jamilla El-Omar and Samah Rababi from Year 9, have been awarded scholarships to support them in their educational pursuits as they work towards their HSC.
Year 12 student Anna Suryantoko was also recognised as her scholarship award ceremony in Year 9, was cancelled due to covid.
Recipients are selected each year based on their academic achievement, resilience and determination, with the scholarship providing a laptop, tutoring, mentor/coach as well as covering educational expenses over four years.
BGHS Relieving Principal Lisa Edwards says the school community is very proud of the students who were selected for these prestigious scholarships.
“The application process required them to demonstrate not only their intellectual prowess but also their motivation, drive, grit and determination to overcome any challenges in order to succeed at school,” she said.
“We are very grateful to the Harding Miller Education Foundation for supporting girls in public education right across Australia so that they have the best chance to reach their high potential.
“A huge congratulations to our girls on this incredible achievement.”
