Scholarships awarded to students to assist studies

FIVE students are among 700 across Australia that have received scholarships at last week’s 2023 Proudly Public! Awards administered by the Public Education Foundation.

There were four students from Chester Hill High School – Fatima Haidari, Sajida Kazimi, Iman Salih Madlool and Salehah Walizadah, and a student from Bankstown Senior College – Zainab Hassani.
Chester Hill High School Principal Maria O’Harae said the Public Education Foundation’s Friends of Zainab Secondary Scholarships help support refugee students through the critical years of their Higher School Certificate.
“Four Chester Hill High School students have been the well deserving recipients of this prestigious award,” she said.
“We are very proud of our students.”
Department of Education Acting Secretary Murat Dizdar thanked the Public Education Foundation for its ongoing support of public education in NSW.
“These scholarships are about recognising student excellence, potential and ability and rewarding students so they can continue to reach their potential,” he said.
