Featuring a dozen concerts and 45 top-drawer performers, the festival – this year with the theme of ‘Blue Mist’, kicks off with a bluesy, ‘saxy’ feel and an Afternoon of Gershwin, performed by Nexas Quartet who will be joined by one of Australia’s best-loved pianists, Gerard Willems AM.
Nathan – on tenor saxophone – said they would be performing all of Gershwin’s big hits.
“There’s ‘An American in Paris’, ‘Rhapsody in Blue’, ‘Three Preludes’ and ‘Cuban Overture’ so fans should be really thrilled,” he said.
“It’s a wonderful weekend away and not too far from Sydney in such a pretty, peaceful setting.
“Last year was a great experience for myself and the band and we are really looking forward to playing there again.”
