Salvo’s Life Store helping poor with groceries, clothing, items

CHANGING people’s lives one grocery item at a time, the Salvation Army Auburn has been supporting families and individuals who are struggling financially at their Salvo’s Life Store.

Located on level one within the Salvation Army’s building at 166-170 South Parade, Auburn, it is open Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday by appointment and offers discounted food, clothing, household items and furniture.
“It truly is a store with the aim of restoring or giving quality of ‘life’ to the community members who shop here,” a spokesperson said.
“An important part of the mission of this store is to help relieve some of the financial burdens people are suffering during these hard days of Covid-19.
“More and more families and individuals within our community are struggling to meet even their basic financial responsibilities and are feeling more and more burdened.”
Salvation Army Auburn wants to ease this pressure and give everyone greater access to the necessities of life and help community members reduce their living costs as much as possible.
“Our mission is to serve our community and this is one of the practical ways we can,” the spokesperson said.
“We invite everyone to come along and check out our bargains.”
