Salsa your way to great health, mood

WOULD you like to enjoy all the positive attributes of exercising without going to a gym?

Described as providing you with a joy that you don’t get from anything else, Salsa dancing could be your ticket to a happier, healthier new you.
Longtime Salsa teachers Shahan Sellathurai and Marcos Moran run classes every Monday from 7pm at the community hall on the corner of John and Keating streets, Lidcombe (next to St Joachim Catholic Church).
It’s $20 for the full night of dancing until 9.30pm or you can opt for a Bachata (slow Latin-style dancing) class or a Salsa (more spirited movements) class for just $15.
Featuring all beginner-friendly moves, the classes are held on large, air-conditioned dance floors with expert, supportive instruction from the talented dance teachers.
Also an opportunity to socialise and connect, Shahan says the nights are always filled with fun, laughter and unforgettable moments.
“Whether you’re a seasoned mover or shaker or a total beginner, this is your chance to get into your groove and unleash your inner dancer,” he said.
“Salsa ignites a passion in you, it stirs your soul; when you connect with the music and your partner, you truly experience a rare joy, it’s like your soul is on fire.
“It’s among life’s most pleasurable activities and you’ll soon be feeling fitter and more positive without even realising it.
“It’s such a beautiful experience for any age and all are invited to come along and give it a go.”
