Safe place for women to share stories

A SAFE place for women to share experiences, stories, thoughts and ideas with each other without being judged and with opportunities to develop mindfulness and mediation skills, the free Women’s Circle is held every Thursday at Berala Community Centre.

Hosted by Ascent Counselling and supported by Settlement Services International’s Ignite Ability program, some of the topics covered include healthy eating, setting boundaries and building positive relationships.
Women’s Circle facilitator Elanor Seeto said: “Women are also encouraged to explore their creativity in writing stories or poems, as well as expressing themselves in drawing.
“As the workshops continue, women will be able to contribute to what topics will be discussed. There is time set aside for meditation and relaxation, before the workshop finishes, that I am sure most women would appreciate.
“I am passionate about empowering women and if I can play a small part in bringing a greater awareness and light into their lives, I am most grateful.”
Sessions are held 12-2pm at the centre, 98-104 Woodburn Road.
