RSPCA staff’s two million call career

AFTER having taken almost two million phone calls during her 35-year career at the RSPCA NSW, Pauline Dwyer has called it a day.

She was the “voice of the organisation during her impressive career”, while also fostering countless kittens and puppies.
Pauline joined RSPCA NSW on November 23, 1987, as a telephone operator and throughout her journey, grew to manage the switchboard, connecting calls and ensuring they reached their intended recipients.
“It’s been wonderful working alongside people who love animals as much as I do,” she said.
A wealth of knowledge, she was RSPCA NSW’s original contact centre representative and on average, taking over 110 calls a day throughout her tenure.
“Pauline is a wealth of knowledge and has been an incredible asset to the team,” Steve Coleman, RSPCA NSW CEO, said.
“She has been a major chapter of the history of RSPCA NSW,” he said.
She was presented with a certificate of appreciation that read: ‘One person can change the world. Never underestimate the difference you made and the lives you touched’.
