Rotary selling real pine trees

CHRISTMAS trees are a household necessity at this time of year and many families prefer the look, smell and feel of a real pine tree in their house.
If you were wondering where to get a real pine tree this year, the Rotary Club of Padstow is holding its annual Christmas Tree Sale of freshly cut beauties on the corner of Bullecourt Ave and Henry Lawson Drive, Milperra, on Saturday, December 9, from 8am while stocks last.
Padstow Rotary President Charles Mille said there would be four sizes of trees 1.5m (5ft), 1.8m (6ft), 2.1 (7ft) and 2.4m (8ft) trees at various prices.

“But be early to get your special tree as they sell out quickly,” he said.
The Christmas Tree Sale is a major fundraiser for Rotary Club of Padstow, with proceeds of the day used to support both local and international projects.
A tip on care of your special tree is to treat it like a cut flower in a vase.
Keep the base submerged in water and continually top it up throughout the month. Place your tree in a spot the gets filtered morning light and try to avoid the heat of the afternoon sun.
When the festive season is over, dispose of your tree composting or cutting it up and placing it in your green waste recycling bin.
