The young adult, romance fantasy, fiction book is titled ‘Carousel Worlds’ because the characters are usually on horseback in the countryside and can travel to other worlds – on horseback!
Kim used to love horse riding and has achieved a TAFE Certificate in Horse Husbandry.
The characters also learn to play piano (as did Kim).
Describing it as a ‘girly’ book with the characters aged about 14, she said she knew of a 45-year-old woman and 80-year-old man who enjoyed it too, calling it a page-turner.
“My book has a bit of everything, from old fashioned, boy-next-door (Part 1), to fantasy/magic (Part 2) and the reality of NSW (Part 3),” she said.
“It’s just a fun, easy to read book and will inspire your imagination.
“I mostly handwrote it back in the 1990s when I was in my 20s. During the pandemic, I went through the exciting journey of having it published.
“My book has been accepted into Woy Woy Public Library, WA and SA State Libraries and into a QLD library on the Gold Coast.”
Also enjoying painting landscapes on canvases, Kim says she dreams of going overseas again, London for the third time or Ireland for the first time.
