LOCAL high schools have bucked the expected trend with HSC students showing they could not only rise above the lockdown adversities of the last two years but actually achieve amazing results.

Schools calling for future enrolments after celebrating great HSC success

The schools are now calling for enrolments for 2023 and 2024.
Spanning four campuses, Georges River College students are challenged, work hard and encouraged to achieve their personal best.
As well as a top HSC ATAR of 98.3, improving on last year, the college has two students named on the Premiers Allrounders List and six students on the Top Achievers List, with 89 students named in 79 courses on HSC Distinguished Achiever’s List.
Open nights for Year 7 enrolments in 2023 will be held virtually this year.

Ranked in the top 100 schools in NSW for five years running, Bethany College is also celebrating after receiving a top HSC ATAR of 99.05, 64 Distinguished Achievers, five on the Premiers Allrounders List and 31 out of 144 achieving an ATAR of over 90.
Now enrolling Year students for 2024, Bethany is hosting an Open Day on Tuesday, March 1, 3.30-6.30pm.
“There will be guided tours, teacher meet and greets and info about the Gifted Program as well as displays in dance, music, sport, leadership and social justice,” a spokesperson said.

Bankstown Senior College provides secondary education to students of post compulsory age, new arrivals, refugees, re–entry students and those who have found it difficult to engage with education in a traditional setting.
A full range of academic and vocational courses are available for students in Years 10–12, with Intensive English courses also offered.
The College’s 2021 HSC results were outstanding, with a number of students achieving an ATAR of over 90 and all achieving the required result to access their chosen pathway.
The College received recognition from Jan Green, Director, Educational Leadership, for exceeding the target of increasing the number of students achieving in the top three HSC bands.
“It was a magnificent outcome for our students, but it doesn’t happen without commitment, dedication, passion and selfless application from the teachers,” she said.
