Last Thursday about 8.25am, a 40-year-old woman was approached by an unknown man in the carpark of a shopping centre on North Terrace, Bankstown, who demanded she handover her bag.
The woman left the scene and entered her vehicle parked nearby, when the man followed and entered the passenger seat of the vehicle, before producing a knife and stealing her bag, wallet and cash.
Detectives have released CCTV and images of a male they would like to speak to. He is described as being 170cm tall, with a dark beard, long blonde/brown hair, and has a distinctive walk with a limp to his left leg.
The man is depicted in the footage as wearing a dark ‘Gant’ cap, a black and blue ‘Nike’ hooded jacket with a high-vis top underneath, dark ‘Adidas’ pants with three stripes down one side, work boots and a black face mask.
The man’s hair was plaited, and he was carrying an ‘Aldi’ shopping bag. He was last seen running south on Stacey Street, Bankstown.
Anyone with information about this incident is urged to contact Crime Stoppers: 1800 333 000 or nsw.crimestoppers.com.au.
