THE resident flock of geese at the Auburn Botanic Gardens are happy to honk a welcome to visitors willing to brave the winter chill to catch the final bursts of spectacular Autumn colour still on display in the Japanese Garden, including Acer palmatum, Pistacia chinensis and Triadica sebifera. The Gardens feature a diverse range of plants, trees and flowers as well as native wildlife and birds and are open every day from 9am to 5pm. Entry is free for children under 16 and Cumberland Council residents, and $4 for other visitors.
